All You Gulf Coasters

My wife and I have decided to look at winter places somewhere between Padre Island, TX and Ft Myers, FL. I know, huge area, but neither of us has lived on the Gulf Coast, so no preconceived notions. Given that we'll spend +/- 5 months straight per year there, driving distance from CO is not a big deal.

Would be nice to have some distractions while we're there. Good to great fishing is a must. Some decent restaurants is an important quality. Some entertainment (concerts, festivals, etc.) would be nice. Probably good with 3 BR and we're ok with a town home/condo if it's a good fit.

So, where should we look? We'll probably use 2022 to take multiple trips to check out locations and hope the market cools down in the meantime.

Will maintain two homes, and no need to rent out to make ends meet.

Steinhache, FL is great for fishing and oyster season. If you vote leiberal don't bother crossing into the state.

Stay away from Houston, NOLA, etc... both are shit holes and hurricanes can't even fix that.
