We've been a little dry recently, so that will help initially, for the ground to suck up rainwater. After that, it's just a question of how much respite we get in between feeder bands.

Things are expected to really crank up tonight and tomorrow in H-Town.

Maybe it'll reach Austin and bathe some of the hippies and weirdos up there.

It's tracking to the Northeast, so Austin will probably be totally spared. Looks to come in mid Texas coast and run through Deep East Texas and Louisiana.

Update:

Power went out sometime overnight and returned about Noon and has stayed on. Some small branches down in yard, one neighbor lost a section of fence, another lost a large branch, but that's about it. Everything cleaned up here, the fence next door is a 10' section that snapped the verticals on each side, so we really can't fix that easily, plus the husband is out of town for two weeks.

I guess the storm passed through quickly, because, while it's overcast and mists every once in a while, I think that's it. No wind, no rain of any significance.

We got a fair bit of rain in SW Houston and a bit of wind. Power was out for about 10 hours. Back to normal now.

Were good, lost power at 1am it came back at 6:45am. Lots of downed fences (mines brand new and fine) and an HOA owned Pecan tree took out my neighbors car. The storm passed right over us.

Is that the actual track of the storm? If so, it looks like it went just about right over me, too, as I'm in the corner, close to both Harris and Galveston counties.

The wind woke me up, then it went still (must have been the eye passing over), but then no big wind after the eye went over, which was weird. During Ike, the second half of the storm was even worse than the first part, before the eye passed through.
