I'll take a photo of the box... It's a Louisiana company and may only be available here. The name is Mam Papaul's by Louisiana Gourmet Ent., Inc. PO Box 97, Hahnville, LA 70057 1-800-EAT-KJUN I've made their Red Velvet cake many times and it's been loved by many local bakers. They tell me it's as good as any homemade that they've made. We did a taste testing with longtime bakers and the food department. My guess is that the Black Velvet tastes the same as the red. Looks to have purple frosting. If it isn't purple, I'm going to make it purple! I'm making it for a co-worker who loves the red velvet cake. He really wants a lemon dobage' , but I do not have that kind of time! I'll take photos. |

You know what happens if you eat black or dark blue icing?
My favorite red cake is "My Granny's Red Cake". It's not a true red velvet but it's tasty. |

, I'll look forward to seeing what happens. Years ago when I did a lot of baking, a lady told me the biggest mistake she ever made was serving red velvet cake at her son's birthday party... projectile vomit and white carpet

It comes out a kind of dark greenish color in the end.

The guy on the right is the co-worker with the birthday. Believe it or not, he'll be turning 60. He belongs to The Liberty Jump Team.

Who cares if it doesn't look good although I know where Kermudgeon is coming from. Some of these don't look all that well, but they tasted fantastic. My ribeye and potatoe. My famous 35lb Lasagna. Fried bananas on top of an ice cream waffle. Tuna sandwhiches. Bacon on Charcoal. My version of a Greek salad. |

I made my lasagna for my parents last weekend. It was a total flop. The sauce was too thin and I overcooked the lasagna. I ended up with something that was inedible. At least to me. A day later I tried some more and told my mother that I will not be offended if they throw it out as I wasn't going to eat anymore of it. Sometimes things work out, sometimes not. I have a pretty good batting average though. |

I used to be a vegetarian, and even now i refuse to eat red meat when eating out. My dad can make a mean steak though when my mom lets him of course, since he makes the whole kitchen dirty. |

But Jen, you can walk and chew gum at the same time, right?
Heh, heh, all it takes is practice. After a while the cooking is automatic, and you can play with the art end. By the way Jenn, add me to the list of men who can cook. Retired now, but was a professional chef for 15 years. And Mike, you can see the food service past in your presentation as well. It's something that you don't forget, and can't help. I even spread my grapefruit out in a fan design for myself, hehe! |

I say we start demonstrating and demand that this be merged with off topics.
