Who else wears them ?
I loved the 498's but they stopped making them a year or so ago...I must have 8 pairs still....I have to write with marker letters on the insole to know which goes together
Anyway I was told at the store the M990's took their place,have two pairs so far but @ $159.99

I've been wearing NB since before athletic shoes were a political statement. Started out because they were one of the few makers that made a wide size, kept with them because they don't fall apart in short order.

I love New Balance shoes. My foot doc is the one that told me to wear them, that was a long time ago and I still wear them!

F*CK New Balance and their lack of service. Last November I spent $110 on a pair of safety toe work shoes. They were purchased off ebay from a NB seller.

Within FIVE WEEKS both shoes developed cracks across the soles. I don't stand in coolant, there wasn't any hard use and they were only worn at work.

They refused to do anything about the defective shoes since I did not buy directly from their store. They did offer a one use coupon for $30 off a pair of shoes from their website at stupid prices.

I previously wore NB for over 25 years purchasing multiple pairs every year. Their failure to stand behind the product they sell permanently lost me as a customer.

Below are the pictures of the shoes I sent NB when they basically told me to f*ck off. The cracks developed into 1/4" wide cracks on both shoes ,across the entire width within a couple weeks.

I found other shoes to spend my money on.

Seriously - at Pickleball ( a game for seniors) 90 percent of the people there have NB.

No I never had a quality problem but I only buy the Made in USA styles too.
I might actually call with a fake problem to see what happens.....

Those NewBal shoes shown above, look like they designed to be light in the loafers....fart faries wear those.....

about 50 years ago, I got into the deck shoe habit....been wearing them since, UNLESS I am working filthy work, or mowing the lawn...have clod-hoppers for that crap.....Deck shoes are great, don't even have to velcro them much less than TIE them...slide on/off easy....superior traction.....have a real tired pair of Timberlines my wife bought years ago, and said they will be replaced this Christmas.....

Those 627 were made in the USA. The soles broke and NB wouldn't do anything for a multi decade customer.
