All good, I was a lot like you, different field, once you get a taste of "normal work hours" it sure will feel good. Hell, I semi-retired without my employer even knowing it.

Most importantly, just stay healthy!

Congrats. I went from 70-80 hours a week, 16-20 phone calls a weekend, on call all the time to 45 hours a week, barely a call after hours and 100% less stress. I never knew I could enjoy so much time at home and doing stuff around the house. Much happier and healthier. Oh and the company I went to does about the same cash flow and it is a privately held company. No need to blow smoke up the stock holders rears.

Last place I worked at before retirement... I told them during the interview:

* M-F only

* no more than 40 hrs/week

* no callouts

They agreed; I worked there for 17 years.

80 plus hours a week? That's crazy, I put in 60 at multiple jobs early in life and decided I would never work that many hours regularly no matter the pay. It's too hard on a person and life is too short.

It really helps to know your value and expect that of potential employers.
