Default UAW Strike

"Stand-up" Strike in less than 30 minutes at:

GM plant in Wentzville, Missouri (Colorado, Express, Canyon, Savana)
Stellantis plant in Toledo (Gladiator, Wrangler)
Ford plant in Wayne, Michigan (Ranger, Bronco)

So, do C8's keep coming off the line? As long as these don't shut down any key suppliers as collateral damage...

Asking for a 40% pay increase over 4 years for turning a wrench. Wants a 32 hour work week. Job security.

The way inflation is ripping, that demand MIGHT make them a net gain of 5% in purchasing power in 5 years.......in the daze of ten buck gasoline....

The Ford truck plant in Wayne is right across the street from my weed store, hopefully less foot traffic, I'm due to score a sack soon.

32 hr work week with full pay and 40% pay increase or more.
I hope they break the Unions... Probably be the end of people buying Big 3 cars if they don't.

The way the UAW President rants and raves and demands stuff from the automakers makes me sick. Unions used to be a great thing in this country. Now I see them as another corporation making money off a pyramid scheme from the members.
If the unions stood up and worked with the companies, weeding out the no loads and people who call off all the time, maybe they could redeem themselves. I've seen it too many times of members not performing, the union complaining and when you attempt to correct the issue all of a sudden everyone is protecting the same person they are complaining about.
If I can purchase a car from a non union corporation, I will. The UAW demands are stupid, they feel they can hold the Big Three hostage. Too bad they don't have the manufacturing capacity in other locations to move the jobs there and keep them out long term. Amazing how the union can amass an $825 Million dollar strike fund, tells me the dues are too high.

The Big Three should relocate to North Carolina and other Right to Work states.

I have no doubt that these idiots are the loudest ones bitching about everything costing more...

F'k em. F'k em all. The idiot workers, the big companies, everything. Everybody has played a part in this shit show. Let it all crumble.

the UAW; the absolute lowest rung of the automotive workers unions. They represent the lowest skilled part of the manufacturing process.

Skilled trade workers don't belong to the UAW; they have their own unions.

A very good point, thank you MM. I have done a lot of maintenance in a couple auto plants and been on Bowling Green tours! A monkey could do most of the assembly line jobs.

The workers there that get and deserve the better money are the people that build and maintain the workings of the line and ancillary items like building heat, plumbing, electrical, robotics ETC.

Full disclosure I'm over a 50 year member (retired) of a SKILLED construction union.

When were unions a great thing? They promote mediocrity and protect the slackers.
