Default I retard. One year later.

I’ve been retired for a year now. I can honestly say the only thing I miss from my working days is that exquisite feeling you get when you realize it’s Friday and the weekend is here.

I lose track of what day it is. It doesn’t matter. They’re all great.

I’m busier than a one-armed drummer. It’s cliche, but I don’t know how I ever had time to work before.

It’s hard, but I don’t pay nearly as much attention to politics anymore. It’s depressing, and I don’t want to invite that shit into my life at this point.

Life is good, even if my country is about to blow apart at the seams.

Know what you mean, the feeling is somewhat mutual. Almost 10 years retired now, the time is flying, but doing what I want, love the freedom. I still have relatively good health at 72, but I'm slowing down. Can't get all embroiled with politics, don't need the stress.

My interests are keeping me busy, which I enjoy, so life can be good.

Well I have been retired since 02, I get a good pension and SS and for the most part do what I want.

Lots of things change some for the better some for the worst!

My job was a pipefitter/welder which meant I worked outside a lot in NY states interesting weather. That was from a 100 degrees F to -25F. Let you in on a little secret do not miss the work one nano second, do miss a lot of the good people I worked with over the years.

it's almost noon, and i have about 1/2 of my chores and errands done for the day.

there is always something to do. question is, will it get done today, or will it be saved for another day?

Been retired since Dec. 21 2018. Love it and when I start a project I can take my time to get it done.

If I had known retirement was going to be so much fun I would have done it first. But then I'd have to vote Democrat all my life.

Many times I have no idea what day it is. And we always have something to do or people who want to so something.

Age 75 now, moved here 22 years ago, I try to stay active, in spite of the return of arthritis, and really sharp lo back pains....

I married for the 3rd time here, 18 years ago, a nice SWEET young ChickA Dee named Linda, 3 time is a charm.....she is absolutely PURRfect.....

I just wish she would concede the fact of her mother's decline and put her in a nursing home, instead of stressing out taking care of her, I watch the toll on her and realize there is nothing I can do, her mother is 89 and her aunt is 87 and my sis is 88 but up in Md outside DC with her kids....

Now 74, took retirement in 02 from my construction union at age 55. Normal is 62 but I had so much OT behind my name I get a good pension. FWIW I also took SS as soon as I could, no one can foretell the future!

Good luck man---

I’ll be 63 in a couple of months. This is actually my second retirement. I retired from .mil in 06 and went to work in industry. I always said I would retire at 62 and I did. I thought about delaying SS benefit until older, but like someone said above, there’s no guarantee I’ll be around that long. I haven’t always avoided unhealthy habits.

My day to retire is the last week of February 2020 just shy of my 65th birthday which will be in May.
