This is horrifying. It's really too bad the police didn't just kill the shooter right away. Now all those people effected will have to keep living this, as the guy is tried, goes through appeals, etc. It's really upsetting. I can't figure out why no one else in the store was armed and could have stopped this guy.

We need 'constitutional carry' nation wide, like yesterday, and an end to gun free zones, unless the places that choose to be gun free are going to frisk and search people for weapons, then provide the security they refuse to let the people do for themselves.

I'm actually shocked that no one was armed and could have taken him out. I literally never leave the house without a firearm. Well, with the exception to go on the AF base...

To say the dems are politicizing the ever loving shit out of this is an understatement. Every last one of them is blaming Trump. They really need to take a look in the mirror at themselves. I may get flamed for this, and no, I don't condone what the shooter in Texas did, but some of the points in his manifesto were valid. Our .gov has let us down on all fronts, our country literally is being over run with illegals, and they won't do shit to stop it. We as a nation are in serious trouble.

Want to reduce gun violence? here's my ideas

No more gun free zones. All they are is a target rich environment. National carry permit for the folks that show proficiency with firearms.

Any mass shooting is to be dealt with a "kill the shooter" directive.

The only time the shooter's name shall be said out loud or in print would be at court proceedings. Any news reporting can only be mentioned as "the el paso shooter" or if there are multiples, then assign numbers. NO public recognition of what they did.

If a shooter is found guilty, the only punishment would be death by firing squad. They will be fast tracked for execution. If they plead guilty, march them right out of the court and directly in front of a firing squad.

Bring back the mental institutions for the folks who don't do well in society. If prescriptions bring you back to where you will function in society, then it would be mandatory that you stay on them or get sent back.

No more "first person" shooter video games. It's desensitising the young folks. Life does NOT have a "reset" button.

Well; there are games like Grand Theft Auto that are 3rd person shooter games. These 3PS are reality games just like the Call of Duty games, and there's lots of them.

I don’t even think it’s the type of games that is driving this. The bigger issue is that we are conducting a grand experiment with our kids right now: We are literally altering the way they think and behave by allowing them to isolate themselves and have little to no real social interaction. This is the consequence. Their brains are not forming and making the connections that they should.

Humans need social interaction. That is just the way we are built. We are shoving devices in kids hands before they can walk. Then they’re allowed to do nothing but play with that device or video games, etc., all day and all night.
