I'm old, always put ketchup on my dogs, and never heard anybody question it til the Dirty Harry movie, and I didn't really pay any attention to it then -- it's just a movie.

But in recent years I see it on the internet. So it must be right.

In Denmark all the hot dogs get ketchup, however it is socialist ketchup (thin, doesn't sit right on your tongue, they claim its better for you, and that they do a better job making it)
