The act specifically applies only to the United States Army and, as amended in 1956, the United States Air Force. Although the act does not explicitly mention the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps, the Department of the Navy has prescribed regulations that are generally construed to give the act force with respect to those services as well. The act does not prevent the Army National Guard or the Air National Guard under state authority from acting in a law enforcement capacity within its home state or in an adjacent state if invited by that state's governor. The United States Coast Guard (under the Department of Homeland Security) and United States Space Force (under the Department of the Air Force) are not covered by the Posse Comitatus Act either, primarily because although both are armed services, they also have maritime and space law enforcement missions respectively.

There’s also a law called the Insurrection Act, which states in part:

The Insurrection Act of 1807 is a United States federal law (10 U.S.C. §§ 251–255; prior to 2016, 10 U.S.C. §§ 331–335; amended 2006, 2007) that empowers the president of the United States to deploy U.S. military and federalized National Guard troops within the United States in particular circumstances, such as to suppress civil disorder, insurrection and rebellion.

The act provides the "major exception" to the Posse Comitatus Act, which limits the use of military troops under federal command within the United States for law enforcement purposes.

I have seen this argument before.....the blacks are peacefully protesting, then their protests get co-opted by other, violent people. OK, let's go with that very narrative, let's say that is true. Fine.

After the first night, and you're those peaceful protest organizers, and you see your plan has gone to shit and your neighborhood is burning......don't keep protesting! Don't give those other people the cover they need to burn your neighborhood! How hard is this to understand?

If I threw a party for my friends, but then some people I didn't know came later and started punching holes in the wall and ripping out the plumbing, you know what I wouldn't do the next day? I wouldn't throw another party and take a chance on more damage.

The BLM didn't give a shit, they just went ahead and did it anyway. At worst, they are the rioters. At BEST, they facilitated the rioters.

Edit: I did have a friend actually remind me of something Trump did that I am unable to defend. I have a response, but I can't say it makes it acceptable. When renting his properties, he designated with a "C" when the potential renter was black. Now this could have been with the intention of making it a better environment in that they could avoid racial tensions that can result from mixing people all together, or it could have been very malicious. I have no idea. It doesn't sit well, but if that's all ya got, I'd hardly equate that to burning crosses on front yards.

Kind of a technicality on that one. He had both nicknames but was most often called CHAOS and did not care for the name Mad Dog. The president didn't say he GAVE him the name, he said he "changed it" from CHAOS to Mad Dog.

Suppose my nicknames are Aero and Sparky, but I don't like Sparky and every one on the forum calls me Aero. Then you come along and decide you want my nickname to be Sparky. You use it all the time and others start using it too. You didn't give me the name, but you effectively changed it from one to the other.
