I did not get online yesterday, so just now got your message here and found out a few more things after checking my emails.

So meanwhile some great things happened over the past few days.

A few of the guys here at the barn have been working behind the scene to help us get a generator, and got the funds together for us.

They wish to remain anonymous, but I truly want to thank them very very much!

I will head to the city soon and start looking for a generator.. and can't wait to have power again!

Some things you just kinda miss, like lights instead of kerosene lamps, running water instead of using a bucket, flushing the toilet with the handle instead of a bucket, computer time when you need it instead of driving to someone else's place that has a generator and waiting for them to come home when they are not there, and limited to only 3 hours a night.
(but I sure do appreciate the time online and the use of my friends office)

And oh yeah... and did I forget to mention maybe cold water instead of warm water for drinking?

I am sure once we get power again here soon with a generator, our home will be filled with neighbors watching TV, and many more people outside of the porch watching through the windows.

Now that I think of it, I may set up a TV outside so the whole village can watch at night..

Also something good happened here yesterday, Islamic Relief Worldwide came through our village here helping the homeless with tents to stay in for now.

Many people have been staying at the grade school, and the church at night for now.

They are very large. and nicely made professional tents, and gave out 48 of them just in our village, almost 1000 tents have been given away on our island I was told.

I have a lot of photos and will get some of them uploaded and posted soon.

Today parts of our village looks like tent city's now.

Those tents landed there in Cebu on one of our planes 4days ago. 250,000lbs of them I think. We have had 6 planes so far. Hope all is going well for you.....John

Wow, those tent are bigger than some of the houses they replace it looks like. Well done, it's great to see the world pull together in times of emergency.

If you speak to them again let them know I am posting up some photos from the day.

I met Dean their Photographer from the UK, and spoke with him quite a bit.

Dean may use some of my photos from during the storm and the day after.

I also met the guy running the show on the ground here but had trouble pronouncing his name, so he told me to just call him Shah, who is from Pakistan, quite a nice guy.

Dean came back the next day, and was doing an interview of a village girl here while she was holding her baby inside one of the tents, Vivian is her name, and she is the daughter of Dodong who we are building a hut for their family.

I hope they post up the video on their website.


Of the 7 huts we are working on building now with donations, it just happens they were all among the few 48 that got tents here in our village, so you can see I am on the right page as to who to try to help first.

They are very nice quality, and large as Kermy said.

There is one in my front yard now as Erning had no room where his hut was, or anywhere to put his up for now while we are building his new hut.



Pretty roomy inside also, it is a tent inside of a tent.

By the way, these photos are of the basketball court that we call the plaza here.

This is where all the special shows and things happen like our village festival and disco's every year.

This is also where Dixie will be giving away the toys on Christmas.

Same here.. It was a Beautiful Tropical Paradise just a month ago.

You could barley see the sky in many places and plenty of shade.

My thoughts exactly. It's going to take quite some time to get back to where it was. As Tim has already said and from pictures he's posted in the past it was quite a tropical paradise.

The main thing though is that Tim, his family and the people in his village were spared.
