Anything at all you would like to send would be very much appreciated, we are past the feeding part now and moving on to helping rebuild.

With some of the excess Christmas funds, we have fed a lot of people already and have begun to build one hut for one of my neighbors, also Dixie raised enough to build one more hut.

I am going to also post this reply in the thread because a few others have sent a PM to ask, and I have very limited internet time here with a generator at a friends place.

Some good news I found out today from Henry the water line repair dude..

On the generator for the water supply, it needed to be 15 KVA (expensive and large) but he says they now already have a new one here for the water supply, and will be getting it started in the next few days as they inspect all the lines for leaks.

From the way I read this... the Red Cross is safe, but be wary of a lot of others..

In one sign of how much work is ahead, Energy Secretary Jericho Petilla pledged to restore power in all typhoon-battered regions by Dec. 24, a job that will require erecting about 160 giant power transmission towers and thousands of electrical posts toppled by the typhoon. He said he will resign if he fails.

This sounds promising, but I don't think it is possible..

I have a lot more photos to post, and will as soon as I can.

I am just on such short internet/computer time in the evenings here when I can get on at a friends place with a generator.

I also plan to post photos of the huts that we build and their family's as soon as they are ready, but right now having a hard time getting any building materials as the whole island is building right now.

Not to mention all the other islands are trying to get supplies from Cebu City.

I just got online awhile ago but have most of my work done here already, so will upload some more in awhile before I go home tonight.

I agree it is neat to see the good things happening ourselves, but will say that Red Cross came through here yesterday and they handed out a lot of food stuff for the people.

I think the Red Cross is the only safe one to work with that I know of, and would be worried about any of the others out there.

Dixie will be hands on... and get to see everything for himself when he gets here, and it will be fun introducing him around the village here, and a great day for the kids on Christmas.

If he brings his laptop he can also get online at the same time as I do in the evenings and post some pics too.

I do have to admit that in a way I am the lucky one in all of this project..

As I personally get to see all the smiles.. and hear all of the Thank You's..

Dixie will get his share when he gets here also.

The best we can do for the rest of you guys and gals is try to get lots and lots of photos.

Dixie said the same thing about a higher power at work here, and I have to agree..

A Santa thread from a year ago, that got bumped by Rob turned into more than we could have ever planned for in donations.

Then Capt'n John a guy I just met at a friends Bar/Restaurant one night over in town offered his Frequent Flyer Miles to get Santa/Rob here for the kids in our village for Christmas.
(And made it happen!)

Now the whole village is a wreck and in ruins, and we have the chance to help many of those who desperately need it.

Tim,

I'm so very happy and relieved you and your family came through the storm. I see you all have been able to be just what I prayed for, a blessing to those around you. It may not seem like it, but from what I see your actions are some of the best I have seen of showing Christ's love and compassion to those in need. I am looking for my paypal account information so I can get you some more funds to help those in need there. God laid the groundwork for all of this so far ahead and now your are in the right place at the right time with the right heart. Truly He has put you there for such a time as this. Stay well my friend and know you and your family are all in our thoughts and prayers.

I thank God my family and friends are all ok..

I am even more grateful that we still have a home standing as most here do not as you know.

As you know the Santa thread started at Christmas last year, and Dixie got it going again this year.

We went over our planned budget and had collected more to spare, and as many at the barn suggested, we would put it to good use as needed over time.

It sure came in handy and I have to believe that a higher power saw this coming..

I do believe what you say is true... we get by very well here on what little I make online, but there is no way I could have ever helped all of these people here without the help of the great people at the barn.
