second coat of poly on exterior beams, 3rd and last coat tomorrow. down to the shop to work on 50 linear feet of kick plate material for the kitchen, and 90 linear feet of baseboard material for the great room. all wormy maple. need to finish planing the rest of the baseboard to final thickness, round over the top edge, and then start applying satin poly to all of it. if it get done with that a reasonable hour, then work on some spoon sets and a super secret project for a friend.

That's what I drink, only I blend 2/3 decaf and 1/3 reg dark roast for some flavour. It's a heart thing.

mess of rain last night (thus the outage), shop flooded again. sigh. thankfully, had 1-1/2 bags of fresh sawdust from planing, and i remembered a trick from my grandfather (he was a butcher), sawdust soaks up moisture (water, blood, whatever) very nicely, is comfy to walk on, and provides traction. spread sawdust on the wet parts, let it soak up, clean up later with a broom.

rainwater cistern topped off last night too, so moved some of that water to the drinking cistern via hose. leaving room in the rainwater cistern for future rains or snow melt. love free water. saves me 2 water hauls this week.
