Default Steroid shots!

I finally broke down and got them in my back today. Hopefully it will cut down on the lower back, and sciatic nerve pain. I've been dealing with it for a while, and will avoid surgery as long as I can. Ahhh.. the joys of getting old! Anyone here have them? If so, what kind of results did you have?

I've had a total of 3 the past 3 or 4 years...

I had two epidural steroids in relatively quick succession about 4 months ago. The first one did nothing, the second one 'cured' me.

Latest MRI Imagery showed L5 Herniation/Desiccation along with a bone fragment pressing on the S1 Nerve Root.

I was scheduled for Surgery on June 11th, was in the hospital hooked to IV's ready to get cut open, when the Surgeon decided NOT to perform the surgery because I wasn't experiencing any pain. He figured the pain was being managed with the Steroids, and that cutting me open was counter-intuitive.

The following week, of course, the pain resumed. With a FORCE.

I talked to my primary doc and he told me to research the work of Doctor John Sarno.

This man has saved my life.

PM me if you want more info. I'm not ****in around.

Might take a couple days to come around. I take them in each hip about every 5-6 months.I also take a shot for my back every 2 weeks for the past 10 years in the stomach

They told me I should feel some relief by Monday. The local has worn off, and I'm feeling it again, but I will give it time.

My supervisor was dealing with disk problems with his lower back. He got the steroid shots and it did help him for a bit. He had no space between three disks and had constant pain in his hips and legs.

He had surgery on Monday and his pain index went from a constant 9.5/10 ( which was every day ) to a 3/10. The surgeon removed the tops of the disks which made space again.

He's planning on stopping in at work this coming Monday, I can ask him questions if you have any

My problem is between L4 and L5, and it is a space issue. The disc is going out, and the L4 is shifting across the L5. Good thing is, the Doc said there was no indication of arthritis, but Stenosis is present in a couple of places. I'm not debilitated yet, just living with the pain. I have a high threshold for it, but I do realize that sooner or later, it will get to the point where I can no longer tolerate it. I have a few friends that have had surgery, and they got what you are talking about with your friend. Their xrays look like they have little bottle jacks between the vertebrae, with screws holding it all together.

The surgeon literally used specialized pliers to break off the top of each "problem" vertebrae. That was causing Gary's issues. Reducing pressure points made the big difference for him.

He went to a division of the Rothman Institute ( the "go to" center in the Phila area)

The best thing you can do is believe that it's gonna fix you, then it will.

And if you took an MRI of every person's back in the USA, I would bet that 60%+ have the same structural abnormalities that you do. And not every one of them have the same pain. I was on the surgery table for Christ's sake!

Read the book James, it will change your life. I am not making this shit up. I was immediately directed to surgeons after my MRI, and simply having the knowledge of TMS DRASTICALLY reduced my pain.

The Medical Industry is not on your side, they are in it to make as much money as possible...They are treating symptoms, not the actual problem.

I really can't believe it, but my back is better than it has ever been by simply reading some material, and believe in my heart that it is true. The pain VANISHED within a few days. It's SO WEIRD!

I know in my heart, armed with this knowledge, that I will never have a problem again. I seriously believe that.

"Read the book James, it will change your life. "

There are a number of books. Is this the one you suggest?

That's it. Pay close attention toward the end to the 12 Daily Affirmations...

Also it's available in Audio, read by Dr. Sarno himself

It's dry material, but worth your time...
