Water Droplets - First Time shooting

Bought a Nero Laser trigger the other day and spent hours trying to get the perfect shot...timing the water splashes just right. Never got one decent shot! I go so frustrated, I basically scraped that idea and took the shots below all manual. Fired by a Basic remote trigger and made the drops by simply using spoonfuls of water. Some of the water had food coloring to ad contrast and gels on the Speedlite. This was my first time ever shooting this way. As always helpful comments or criticism appreciated.

Yes, it is actually a very good unit. The issue is I did not have the appropriate set-up...so basically I was trying to hit the laser beam with a droplet of water. Very difficult for many reasons. I just need to build a rig so I know when and where the droplets fall and I can get some better (more consistent shots)
