Big thanks to Nitro for his effort.

My only critique of Nitro's edit is there's no shadow, therefore no depth to the shot. Marley looks like she could have been masked out of another pic and put on a white background.
What I don't like on my edit is the lighting isn't particularly even on the left of the frame. (The problem area)

The solution is keep people OUT of the frame, but Marley's mom was having none of it.
I agree, you definitely need that shadow and gradient of light fall off IMO to make it look realistic. Your interpretation is much better than my attempt I'm pretty good in LR, NIK and PS in regards to image adjustments...however I am definitely weak in the area of replacing any objects or any extreme image manipulation. I really stuggle with what many would consider basic PS stuff.

The funny thing is I know there are some PS experts out there that would probably look at that and give some geeked up explanation of how simple it would be to manipulate and do so in about 30 seconds!

I started with the healing patch tool and sampled an area that had similar light. From there I clone stamped the rest with a soft edge brush.

A different crop though may help direct the viewer to the focal point and also (if possible) to bring back in the entire tail. Also the left of the image is much brighter then the right, abit of "Burning" on that side will also help direct the attention onto the main subject. I did not see any EXIF data, can you talk about what you shot it with, and what you did for PP?

Thanks for sharing.

Not sure how to get photobucket to display the full res shot. I missed framing him good because the little bastard wouldn't be still long enough. I think I had everything just set to auto on my T3i. Lens is 18-55mm
