A nice addition to the toolbox
Scored a REAL clutch alignment tool tonight!
Anyone who's ever done a clutch on any car knows the value of this. The typical plastic alignment tool that come with most clutch kits are garbage. A cut off stock input shaft is undoubtedly the best tool for the job, especially with multi-disc clutches. But they are a tough find. Thanks ragtopws6, been looking for one of these for the C5 for a long time! |

Yea, I guess finding one in a junk yard would be kind of hard! Not many Vettes there. Plus parts that are still good would be gone in a hurry. You should have said something we could have looked for one at Carlisle. Parts everywhere there. Glad ya got one. Good info to!

I didn't, Rick did.
Nothing against the charity, but I paid him the full amount, and if he chooses to pass it on, that's his donation. The absolute last thing I want is to give Cor08Vette the pleasure of adding a St Jude '10 tag to my profile there. |

It's the seller's pic. He sold 4 of them.
I believe he builds transmissions and rearends, so he's one of the few that have would have these sorts of extra parts laying around to cut up and make into tools. Although I wasn't actively searching for one, once I spotted the offering, I had to grab one. I knew they'd sell quick, and they sure did. And with any luck, I'll be installing a new clutch in the car over winter or next spring. Probably a Mcleod RST twin disc mated to an aluminum flywheel. |
