shooting range going Woke

a local shooting range, that i'm a member of, has proposed a very important change for this coming year:

presently: blah blah blah Sportsman's Club

proposed: blah blah blah Sporting Club



and also replace "unsportsmanlike" references with "unsporting" references.

i'm sure the old farts that started the club long ago are just pleased as punch with these proposed changes.

what's next, will the NRA rename their flagship magazine from American Rifleman to American Rifleperson?

It's weird how no outraged leftists are not demanding that the NAACP change its name.

You folks should find out exactly WHO, affiliated with the gun club has asked for the change, and make it personal. Isolate and personalize the issue. I suspect most of the members are going to feel similarly to you, that it's bullshit. I'd take it personally. See what you can do, maybe get a coalition to get the complaining member or members thrown out?

Stand and fight, vs. just shaking your head. Or become just like the Boy Scouts, the NFL and other institutions destroyed by the cancer of Marxism. And that's what this is really all about....Marxism. Once you submit to changing the name, how long do you think it will be before those same woke people will be clamoring for the range to be shut down and repurposed as a safe space for who knows what?

well, since i belong to two ranges, i can easily drop my membership and still have a place to shoot. they run me $75/year, July-June, not prorated.

i don't know who's idea this is, and i really don't care. i'll just keep referring to it the same as i've always done. the same little group has run this place for many years, and other than pouring a concrete pad at the rifle range, they haven't done much to improve things. us pistol shooters have been asking for upgrades and expansions, and so far: nothing. screw them.

Keep on going, keep on saying "sportsman's" and if someone from the club "corrects" you, drop your membership then and there, and let them know exactly why.
