Default Price increases WTF !!
I’ve seen several posts about wood, appliances etc and never cared because I’m not building a house and all appliances are relatively new.

Recently looked at getting my Golden a playmate. She’s 4 and she was $500, pure bred.

I’ve seen 3 ads

$2050

I guess people have nothing but time to train a pup so demand has gone through the roof.

No playmate for our dog at those rates

Yes some prices have doubled for merchandise, my spending is up 15% for groceries alone.

Your dog will not care if her new playmate has papers or not. Be a sport and rescue a dog from a good well run pound.

An old coworker messaged me this week, asking if I knew of any local breeders of Miniature Pinschers.
We've had 4, they've had two in the past.

She said that they've been looking for a puppy and they are all $1800-$2000.

I paid $400 in 1999 for my first, the other 3 have been "rescues" so I am not sure what the market was prior to this recent shit.

Meh. Miss Belle cost me $2500 back in 2012. There were $800 GSDs available, but there were good reasons why I didn't want them.

Ridiculous to pay fees like that when you can get a wonderful companion at a shelter and save a life at the same time.

I agree with adopting dogs but, if you want a certain breed and size you really need to purchase.

Around here, 90% of the dogs at shelters are Pit Bull mix or something similar.
These are the fees from the local shelter.

After what my daughter is going through, I don’t see a rescue as an option. GS mix, on medication for anxiety, where’s a muzzle anytime anyone is over to stop the dog from ripping people apart.

I’m sure there’s good ones too but after having a Golden I wanted to look for another.
