I misread "do not want" as "do want" and saw NCRS. 67s fetch a premium. A/c cars fetch a premium. Black on red......fugetaboutit

I laughed. This is so true. How many original black exteriors were made in 67? I have a black one from 69 but that is not all that rare.

WOW guys, I was looking for help not to be beat up or call into question my motives or character. I have been posting on all kinds of sites looking for THE car for me not just A car. Yes I have come across Black Red cars that are totally made up with trim tags, engine etc with asking prices from $100K to $135K. I have been up front from the beginning in my posts on what I am looking for. There are soooo many pieces of junk out there or over priced cars that I can throw thousands of dollars at and be so upside down, that it is not worth it. Yes, I realize it may cost a little more to get what I really want and I am OK with that. I am willing to pay a FAIR price for a FAIR car. What I AM NOT willing to do is pay big dollars for cars people are trying to pass off as real when they truly are not (there are way too many people out there that are sitting on fakes that paid real car pricing). There are several nice cars out there right now that are priced fair for what they are if someone wants to keep it the way they are. For me to pay for such a car then have to paint it, change the entire interior etc... it just does not ad up.
I am not a flipper, dealer or anything like that. I am just a enthusiast who TRUELY wants a black/red car. So instead of looking at me as someone who is not serious or does not have the money, I would hope you would see someone who is truly focused on what he wants and has the resolve to stick to it and with it. |

As someone that voraciously searches for cars I can't afford, watches the market religiously, and spends entirely too much time looking at cars I'll never own, I find it difficult to believe that, with money in hand, you've not been able to find a car that fits your needs. Workable '67 Corvette are just not that rare. I have to think that either A: Your budget kis not adequate to buy the car you want -or- B: The car you want doesn't exist. I see it all the time. Guys who have the coin to set down on say, a Ferrari 308, but when actually confronted with what they can afford with their budget, the reality cools them off quick and they buy a nice CPO 911 instead. A driver '67 is going to be $40K. Period. Its going to need paint today, and the interior is going to be shit. If you show me a sub-$40K Midyear with 20/50 paint (fine from 20 feet at 50mph) and a complete but tapped out worn interior and I'd shit myself. A complete, unsmashed body/chassis combo without drive train components is going to be $25K. The body may not be original GM parts and you may need some interior bits. Frame, suspension and birdcage only is going to ding you at least $15K and likely more. Not knowing where your budget is makes it hard for guys with what you're looking for the step forward and say "Hey, I've got what you need"... My suggestion is to add your budget range to your requests and see what kind of response you get. The market is softening, and you might get lucky and Midyears may see a value correction. I doubt it, but hey, they made a new Star Wars and the 6th and 7th Rocky movies have been awesome, so miracles do happen. |

https://classics.autotrader.com/clas...ette/100020662
https://classics.autotrader.com/clas...ette/100727031 There's two. You'll have to paint one and do the interior on the other, and neither have A/C but the red one leaves you enough money to do the A/C and paint, if you do some (not all) the work yourself and the black one is a case of "I can live without a red interior for a while, this is a sweet friggin' ride"... |

Reread OP. Many points of acceptance, including anything above a basket case. The red one is the same I posted (#4). Leather interior is desired color. Add paint & AC. Done. Personally, I'd leave it, (red one), as is, & add AC. Not fond of black midyears. --------- |
