how much would be looking at for a concrete pad?
it's really hard to work under a car in a gravel/seashell driveway. I was thinking about getting a singe-car concrete pad laid down.
what's the current going rate? |

Last time I checked it was about $1.50 - 1.75 a sqft.
10x20 slab should cost about $300.00 if you do all the work and pour yourself. If you get somebody to do it, it will cost about 2-1/2 that much. Say $750.00 |

all depends on location. To prep, frame, and finish runs about 1.25 a sq ft here, or .60 cents just to finish. Concrete with fiber runs about 110 a yard after taxes here.
If you can level the ground, and frame it up yourself, just have someone finish it. |

Lots of that depends on location, IF they can safely back a loaded concrete mixer truck into the location site without battering/breaking foundations, you are fine, but it's a chance on bare dirt next to a basement....
just in front off the streets are fine.....but up in back yards is the issue... concrete was about 100 bux/yard here last I heard.... plus a pumper for 300 bux to get it into the back yard if necessary..... you can pump/screed/frame your own slab fairly easy...trick is to get a bullfloat on it quickly or it will be rough.... you WILL need help if you not done it before...it's lots of work, you WILL be at it for a while, long day....especially without any experience.... |
