By about January, I'm pretty fed up with winter up here, but the air is good, none of the above natural disaster problems, free medical, low crime, and hot chicks........Not a bad trade off!

just renovated our 1158sf guesthouse (2br/1ba), sits over the 3-1/2 car garage....but....the well is not of sufficient capacity to serve the main house and the guesthouse at the same time long term. so, you'll have to find your own source of water. jobs? no idea what's available in the area. wanna help in the woodshop. can't afford to pay you, but you might learn something.

Can you dig deeper? We've got a second aquifer that is more than adequate if the one our well is fed from should run short.

current well was dug in 2005, it's 200' deep, and is doing ok keeping us supplied, but with the drought, it's not producing copious amounts, but enough for our needs. we're waiting for the rains in about 2 weeks, that should replenish the ground water and improve things.

our neighbor's well ran dry, so she has water trucked in to a large cistern about once a month.

The DFW area is getting too crowded for me - I've been ready to leave for awhile now.

I'm done...toast...finished...fineto. I will die here...ashes spread onthe outgoing tide.

Yep, I got tired of it. I grew up in SW Florida, Bonita Springs. Went to school for 8 years up the road in Gainesville and moved back after. As weird as it sounds, I got tired of living in "paradise." I mean, it's hard to beat having that many days of sunshine... But I got tired of being around a community whose average age was over 100 I got tired of 95 degrees and 100% humidity from April through November, with a slight chance of cooling off for a couple of months...maybe... I got tired of having to drive over 6 hours just to get out of the freaking state

So, one year ago, I picked up and moved to Charlotte, NC The weather is much more temperate, the people much younger and NICER (no grouchy, rude snowbirds pushing and shoving their way into every thing--even though I've moved north, I'm deeper in the South), the scenery is gorgeous (traded palm trees for oaks, maples, dogwoods). The slims are smoking and, if I drive one hour west I'm in the mountains...a couple of hours east and I'm at the beach... Instead of driving 6 hours only to reach GA, 6 hours driving here will land me in DC.

All in all, I'm happy I made the move. In fact, I have zero regrets. It was one of the best decisions I made in my life
