2012 Hot Rod Power Tour
Here is a collection of pictures I took on the Hot Rod Power Tour this year. Started in Detroit and ended in Arlington Texas.
I travelled almost 3200 miles from start to finish I averaged over 31 MPG, that's amazing to me considering how much stop and go traffic I was in and the occasional spirited driving On our way, the weather didn't cooperate and it was really a hard drive to Detroit Guess I can never claim, never seen rain But then again neither can a couple other Forum members But we made it to Detroit and got checked in. One member met myself and RollaMo outside Chicago. He came from California. Wow Made it to the GM proving grounds and I developed the belt squeel. GM techs changed the tensioner pully and idler pully. When that didn't work they said sorry it must be your water pump. Myself and my CF crew finally diagnosed a bad belt and picked up a Gatorback and all was good again. Yes the C4's got their ribbing in Our gang of 3 Driving through the very secretive GM proving grounds In Missouri on Rt 66 pretty close to Rolla,Mo. Wife attempting to hide from you all as she knew where this pic would end up On the road In Oklahoma, Oklahoma was actually the best driving of the tour Front row parking at Mid America Motorworks. Vettes get Hollywood parking They always put on a great lunch stop to include a live band Picked up a couple items while I was there Random pictures I wasn't going to Arlington and not go to see Cowboys Stadium Myself and RollaMo getting ready to head home. Our other buddy didn't stay at the same Hotel but we met back up with him at the long hauler ceremony I won't say what my top speed was on the trip. I have many more pictures but these are just samples. If you ever get the opportunity you should try and make this trip. I first said I may not go next year, now suddenly I am thinking about making reservations already. |

Looks like a great time, thanks for posting up the pics.
Glad to hear you got your squeal taken care of. Looks like the dealership mechanics aren't the only ones who are trained to just throw parts at a problem until it goes away. |

I don't recall anyone specifically from Augusta. But GA is always well represented.
