My parents had B&D electric lawnmowers when I was a kid in the 70's, and Mom still has dad;s B&D drill, probably from the 60's. Still worked last time I used it.

That is great news.

I have used Craftsman tools since I was a teenager. I believe they are very good tools. I have some B&D electric yard tools that I have had for 18 years. They have been good also.

Hope it's true... would be great to see Craftsman tools again be a quality product. I've avoided Black and Decker tools a long time thinking they had sold out too. Good to hear they are doing this. I have a B&D drill and jig saw my dad gave me over 50 years ago and both still work fine. Makes me wish I'd research B&D before investing in the Dewalt 20v stuff recently.

Anyway, where is Ryobi made? Popular power tool brands like Milwaukee, Homelite, even Ryobi are manufactured by China, owned by a Chinese company named TTI.
I think you missed the point of this post.

Stanley Black & Decker announced this week that it is moving production of Craftsman wrenches, ratchets, sockets and more back to the United States from China. The company will break ground on a 425,000-square-foot facility in Fort Worth, Texas, this summer, and the factory is set to be up and running by late 2020.
that's great news.

But, possibly 10 years from now....

the companies small group of "poor quality workers" started a union and their demands have forced the company to cease operations in the US.

How did the demands of workers cause a cease of operations in the US?

There was a B&D plant near here that closed 10 or 15 years ago maybe longer. They had problems getting decent employees, like can you read and write level... They paid decent.

Wow, I hope it's true and would be the start of a trend to bring manufacturing back to the states. Plus textiles which hit our area hard (NC) when it left ~30 years ago.

Bring silk back to Patterson NJ

Paterson is known as the "Silk City" for its dominant role in silk production during the latter half of the 19th century. It has since evolved into a major destination for Hispanic immigrants as well as for immigrants from Bangladesh , India, South Asia, and the Arab and Muslim world.

There was a big Russell Mills facility in a town just north of here that closed several years ago. The building is sitting there empty so it would be outstanding if the returned to it.

One of our properties is a condo that was built from an old textile mill in Little Falls.

Situated on the Passaic River the first floor living room faces the falls. It's an awesome stone building and a reminder of earlier industry in the US.
