Marcus can DRIVE!!! With a capital D!

GNR ENVY joined me today to race my Z06. He had the luxury of the entire morning before lunch at our novice school, driving my Z06. He did VERY WELL.

After lunch, we each took 2 laps to see if he could beat my 8 second prediction. (8 seconds is based on many, many before him in my car, but with no practice like he got....regardless...)

Craig 1st Run 40.0
Marcus 1st Run 44.99
Craig 2nd run 39.14
Marcus 2nd Run 41.8

BTW Marcus, I don't know if you know this, but the other PRO drivers in the PRO class (albeit on street tires in a Miata) ran mid 41's.

Marcus is HANDS DOWN the best student I've ever had! Congrats my friend.

BTW, I ordered two new parts to fix the shit you broke. Was only $70 for both of them. Will be here Wednesday.

Just found this changing to tomorrow's tires.






In a related story, this has broken before, AND I have replacement endlink hardware.

This would explain the rear tire lifting.

ok, i'll fess up to my relative ignorance: that doesn't look like a stock GM part, so what exactly does it do that the stock suspension didn't do, or didn't do as well as that part?

and, are you sure you didn't break said part?

The part in the picture is NOT what Marcus broke. He broke the plastic fender liner on the leading edge of the passenger front wheel well. He knows he broke it, he was the only one driving the car at the time in the Novice School. He hit the same spot twice, hard.

The piece in the picture is an endlink to the Pfadt adjustable front sway bar that I run, hence "Pfadt" all over the car. That same piece, same side, broke 2 weeks before Dixie two years ago.

I run Dixie (National Tour) next weekend. I'm glad it broke today and I was able to put a new one on.

That's simply fatigue, plain and simple. This car is a dedicated autocross car and gets the snot beat out of it constantly. Shit like that just breaks from time to time.

cool, thanks. also helps that you are aware of what is a consumable, so you can have spares and tools handy. does the mfr take back the worn out pieces so they can determine the failure mode and if improvements are warranted?
