There is about to be a shit ton of money invested back into the economy. Insurance claims will tally into the tens of billions of dollars which means thousands of people in the construction business are about to get jobs. There will be thousands more jobs with suppliers, and then all that money paid out as income will be reinvested into the local communities.

See it here all the time in Florida. Miami had one hell of a boom after Andrew.

Yeah man; Danielle and I were talking about that over coffee this morning. $50b is the initial estimate.

Also a lot of good overtime for power company crews from other states.
We had several trucks here from MI.

Some of those older homes were in sore need of an upgrade. Not that I wish tragedy on anyone's place. NJ seaboard got hit really hard.

Short term yes.

Long term insurance costs for those in the effected zone will skyrocket. Hopefully people who have had multiple claims over time are no longer be able to get insurance and will be forced to move to another location.
