Someone made mention of him being my new co-driver.

If he had a HUGE checkbook, that would happen.

This sport caters to everyone, rich or poor, but to be on the bleeding edge, it takes money.

Marcus got a ride in the car that has been the fastest car in raw time for the past 4-5 months. It's virtually untouchable at this venue. He did me and the car proud.

When racing on Hoosiers, especially in a C6Z, there is a general rule that each run costs about $25-30 in rubber. A brand new set of tires lasts a 3-driver car 3 days, 36 miles, before they are practice tires.

Marcus got about $400 worth of runs today.

Makes the broken part seem like spare change.

The two of you should DEFINITELY pursue this sport. The bonding experience alone is priceless.

My daughter will be 13 in July. I'm sad she can't run with us until she's fully licensed. Learner's permits don't count. She's ridden with me MANY times and loves this stuff. She will be racing this car when she's old enough, and likely driving my '06 C6 as her daily driver at that time.

For young kids, getting their jollies out on a safe course like we run, makes them a WAY better drivers on the street. They learn to look ahead and find accidents before they happen. We also run in the rain. The skills learned on how to control a car in the rain are priceless.

Great job Marcus! You did one heck of a good job!

To get that close to Craig's times, first time out in his car is impressive.

There is an old Autocross saying that goes something like..... Borrowed cars are always faster. I have found this to be true in my car many times.

No need to convert it to a track car. There are quite a few options to convert it to a street/track car that are much cheaper and more fun!

Oh wow $400, I need a better job I hope to be able to start to dip into this sport now and when I graduate from college and get a decent first job I hope to run with the big dogs.

Why not both drive?

This looks like the type of racing where the same car can be used twice with two drivers?

I grew up racing with my father and it was the best times and memories we have.

Racing was a love he gave me and we both shared together through the years. It always kept us close even through the week days while working on cars together.

I lost him last month and would give anything to have him back!

The memories I have of him are most all from racing and I am so lucky to have had those great times together with him.

He was saying that he wouldn't get to drive because I would hog the drivers seat

Sorry about your Father, but I am glad you have awesome memories, but you haven't lost him, he may be gone physically, but I am willing to bet he is sitting right next to you

Today's best run:

I won the Pro Class today by 0.061 seconds.

I did, however, only finish with the 2nd fastest raw time today. Another Pro Class car (2010 Porsche GT3), got me by about 1/4 second in raw. Because he runs ASP, his handicap multiplier is a little tougher than mine in SS, hence my win. The owner of the Porsche was a touch slower than both of us, but still extremely quick.

BTW, the GT3 in the video is a 2004 and not the one that beat me. That car ran a 66.6.
