How good a cook am I?
I'm coming down with a cold, so I put a pot of chicken soup on the stove, then wandered off to check my email. Got distracted and forgot about it until an odd aroma called me back to the kitchen. I had boiled all the liquid off and the solids were the color of dark chocolate. I'm pretty sure it was about to burst into flames.
So, yes, I managed to burn soup. I am that talented in the kitchen. |

Awesome!
My ex-wife burned water. I say that but she actually put a pot of water on to boil and the next thing you know the smoke alarm is going off because the pot is smoldering on the stove. Speaking of her cooking, here's a story I will never forget. We hadn't been dating all that long when I had stayed over at her house one night. The next morning she asks me if I'd like breakfast. I said, sure. I ask her what she's making and she says French Toast. Yummy! I hear her in the kitchen banging around and whatnot. I hear this searing sound and I perk up. I'm thinking, hmm, I don't think I've ever heard a sound like that when French Toast is being made. She then tells me it's ready. I go into the dining room and she serves me this plate. I kid you not, it was two pieces of scorched toast laying in a puddle of milk. I say, how many eggs did you use? Her reply? Eggs? Oh yeah, one other thing to add about her. Here's her reasoning behind cooking. Put a pot on the stove. put food in it. When it boils, it's ready. God! She was the worst cook I have ever met in my life. |

I'm a pretty good cook, but I've burned tea, rice, and a number of other things.
Alcohol was usually involved though |
