You can get all you want at a Tractor Supply store. I've seen some nice humidors with horse shoes embedded in them. A chess set too.

I've seen them as coat/key racks and stall door openers too. Augh I can't think of the catalog right now that sells a bunch of western/horse themed items.

I've made cabinet handles with them.

Went to WV this past weekend, and at a local crafts show there was a rocking chair made from them. All used. The thing was beautiful! Wish I tad taken a pic.

That is sooo funny!! I love all the pics!!

This one reminds me of when another mare I had had a horse fly on her belly. She was very thin skinned and ticklish so horse flies would drive her crazy. One day she was in the pasture and suddenly took off at a dead run, stopped, kicked up her heels and took off again. This time she stopped, dropped down on her belly, got up and took off again, dropped down on her belly and back up again. She'd done this about three times before I could get to her to see what the problem was. I thought she was having some kind of seizure. No, it was horse fly firmly attached on her belly where she couldn't get to it.

That is one of the things these poor guys have to deal with constantly. There are dairy farms all around us so the horseflies are horrendous! I've started using drops on them and it seems to help. I also rub 'Swat' on their chests, bellies and groins to keep the flies off the area's that are hard for them to reach.
These horses know when I'm swatting a fly on them as opposed to smacking them to make 'em move, and will hold still so that I can kill it.

Yeah, my mare figured out that I could get the horse flies off better than she could and she almost ran me over one day she had one that just kept after her. I thanked her for bringing it over to me so I could get bit too. I sympathize with them horse fly bites HURT!
