Very uncool. My cost of living goes up, but my pay doesn't.

If you think that COLA increases based on the Social Security standard are large, think again. Lots of years there is no increase, and when there is an increase it's very small.

So he collects at least $120,000 a year after his resignation....but he's 66-years-old, and the residuals and royalties will eventually end. He will get COLA increases (tied to Social Security amounts) in his retirement pay.

Not destitute by any means, but he better have an ample self-funded retirement account.
The 70K with paid health insurance would cover my current standard of living almost adequately, and $120K would allow extravagances like guided hunts for pheasant in the Dakotas, and cast and blasts for birds and monster pike in Canada. Plus a real Choo Choo Elkie! Our needs are possibly simpler than either a disgraced Senator or retired southern lawyer.

The only thing I foresee you'll have trouble with is finding a decent
Choo Choo Elkie, much less at a reasonable price. Remember that the last one was made 30 years ago.

The velour for interior repairs would be the worst. I have it on good authority no one makes it anymore.

Since it's a "future resignation", I'll believe it when it happens.

His net worth is in excess of 9 million $$. He's not going to worry to much about making ends meet.

Yes, but $9 million doesn't buy what it used to.

So what about Teddy Kennedy, Bill Clinton, Chris Dodd and the dozens of other "Liberal lions" the Dems have knowingly turned a blind eye to for the past 4 decades?

The ONLY reason the left is making an issue of this is to get Trump. They don't give a damn about anything else except stopping him from dismantling all the crap Obama and the leftist have done. They will throw anyone and everyone under the bus in order to take him down simply because they are petrified of what he is doing to thier power bases in and out of Washington.

I listened to NPR the other morning on the way to golf and a Liberal talking head, female, basically said just that.

Throwing Al under the bus really doesn't hurt the Dems either, he's just going to be replaced by another liberal that the Minnesota governor will appoint.

It's a pretty slick move on the Dems part. There is already the very real chance that Moore could lose, and they are doing all they can to slide the election in that direction. If playing the moral high-ground is the tool to use, then they'll use it. They have no moral ground to stand on but they well know the short attention span of their base.

If Moore wins, then they'll demand his head before he can cast a vote. And they will paint Republicans as evil deplorables that are OK with child molestation.

Oh, and if Moore wins, then Stuart Smalley may decide to hang around.

The Dems just added morality as a party plank in 2016. Don't bring up ancient history. This is what they have chosen going forward. OK, I accept that. They can sacrifice their own for a while.....doing their part to drain the swamp.

I agree with that.

The problem is, these newly unleashed 4th wave feminists are attacking everyone, en masse, without regard to party affiliation, without regard to how the men feel about Trump, without anything other than a desire to destroy.

Here's a liberal Houston blog I like to read, discussing this very issue, with respect to Texas politics.

That sexual harassment day of reckoning in Texas politics has begun – Off the Kuff

Yeah, the new feminist really have no business calling themselves feminist. Feminazi is more appropriate. The battle fought by the gals in the 60's and 70's for equality has been fought and won.

I agree with fighting sexual harassment in the work place. No one should have work under those conditions. That being said, it is damned hard to prove...and disprove. It is a double edged sword with very sharp edges.

I read an article earlier this week discussing the ramifications of all the sexual harassment accusations in the investment community and the "Mike Pence rule." The author commented that men in positions of power are pulling up the drawbridge and avoiding meetings or social situations where they would be alone with a female.

From a CNN article...

Companies now face a moment of decision: take a step backwards or take a step forward. The solution to harassment in the workplace is not a return to the Mad Men era, excluding women from business meetings, cocktails with clients and networking opportunities. That would be both fundamentally inconsistent with the law and bad for business.

Not only is the "Pence rule" incompatible with the laws requiring that women be afforded equal opportunity in the workplace, but it is also a missed opportunity to embrace the moment and to foster and promote women's voices in the workplace. When companies are appropriately responsive to sexual harassment, everyone benefits.

It's not depriving women of all network opportunities and business meetings. It's avoiding situations where it conceivably becomes a "he said/she said" situation. I highly doubt that most men would do this specifically to deprive women of opportunity. Rather, it's a risk calculation that takes into account a woman can come forward with accusations from a decade ago and the man is guilty until proven innocent. Good luck with proving that, by the way, since so much of what occurs does so behind closed doors (literally and figuratively).

The torches-and-pitchfork crowd runs from one high-profile name to the next and you can't help but get the sense that due process has fallen by the wayside.

Exactly, and the real victims as well. It does still happen. I've seen it happen. And I've seen false accusations happen as well. It's at the point where a keychain camera or lapel camera is a good idea.
