Morning IB.
While true, the problem with your selections is that I do not care to listen
to those types of human waste providers.

I watch the weather reports to try and plan my future day schedules, and then I give it a 50/50 chance of happening, much the same as the forcasts turn out.

Check out Weather Underground.
I've been using it for years and have found it to be very reliable.

When I put the Mazda back together I pulled a vacuum and charged it myself. Cars are easy, just put in the number of ounces they say and make sure the return is sweating. R410a is different in residential and I don't have the electronic gages which makes it a lot easier to calculate the sub cooling temp. Plus I don't silver solder very well.....

I have everything at home to do various ac systems and son been helping me for years so he knew the processes to follow. Shop cost for ac compressor and vac/refill 800 to 1k now so we do everything on them.
He has 120 bucks in compressor, drier and freon. I rebuilt the last one and front seal failed after a few weeks of course.
It was his first big project on his own.

I bought a 25 pound jug of R410a off of one of the guys at my office and it was right at $500. If a tech came to your house they'd charge you $80-$100 per pound.

It shows how much mark up is in the residential HVAC market. When you can go to Grainger or order a start capacitor online and it cost you $25 (or less)... a residential company will sell it to you for $125.... oh... plus their truck charge of $150 just to show up.

I'm not against making an honest profit but some of the residential companies around here are making a killing off of their up sale tactics. Always get more than one estimate!!
