Default Xbox One release date; Sony PS4

Xbox One Gets November Release Date, $499 Price Tag
Microsoft, which unveiled the new Xbox One console last month, announced more details Monday at E3. The new Xbox will arrive this November, at a price tag of $499.

The new product will most likely arrive ahead of Sony's PlayStation 4, but will cost $100 more.

As previously announced, the Xbox One will come with a Blu-ray player and built-in Kinect sensor.

In addition, Microsoft announced a newly designed edition of the Xbox 360, which is available now at a price starting at $199.99.

Sony PS4 to Cost $399
Sony just wrapped up its E3 2013 press conferences with some really fantastic news for gamers. First of all, the PS4 will sell for $399. That makes it a full $100 cheaper than the Xbox One. It’s also already up for pre-order from retailers such as GameStop, Amazon. There’s no solid release date yet, but the PS4 will be out this holiday season. In addition to the lower-than-expected price, Sony also got a huge round of applause when it stuck it to Microsoft by being its complete opposite in terms of used games and online connectivity.

SCEA president and CEO Jack Tretton landed blow after blow to Microsoft right before the press conference ended. Tretton said the PS4 wouldn’t place any restrictions on used games. You’ll be able to buy, sell, trade, lend, or rent games to your heart’s content. The PS4 also won’t require an online connection to play single-player disc-based games. There is also no authentication of game discs. Basically, these announcements were a home run for Sony.

I don't know if it is official, but Amazon says Nov 30 for the Xbox.

PS4 = smaller, slightly faster, $100 cheaper, and zero restrictions on used games

XBone = bigger, slower, more expensive, requires internet authentication every 24 hours to be able to play games, and requires the Kinect bar to be watching you and listening you all the time. (NSA-approved)

Tough choice.

This was the generation I was going to go down to only ONE console, the new XBOX.

Based on price, Kinect required and spying on you, etc. this may turn into the generation I stop buying consoles altogether.

PC Gaming is better anyway. And playstation's exclusives aren't interesting to me.

I'll miss Forza and Halo, but not enough to drop $500 I don't have on a some console with inferior specs to a PC that now also watches me.

If Microsoft has any brains, they'll quickly axe he Kinect requirement, the online every 24 hours requirement, the used game b.s., and slash the price to equal PS4.

Microsoft dominated Sony with XBOX 360. But that can turn around in an INSTANT with a new generation.
