Did you read the whole tweet? It was indeed pre-planned....they were going to spend an hour with Trump....that was the plan. They ended up spending half the night with Trump. That part wasn't planned at all. He didn't have to spend the extra hours with them, didn't have to break bread with them at dinner. He didn't have to do any of it, frankly. He's not a representative of the government, and he was NOT responsible for their losses. And here's the thing. They wanted to continue spending time with him, and he wanted to continue spending time with them. It was both spur of the moment, and mutual.

And note that he didn't blast this act all over his Truth Social account, so if this was a shameless campaign ploy....he's doing it wrong, because virtually no one knows about it.

Edit: Think about the fact that any one of these families could have left at any time....but they didn't. Trump tried to make a memorable night for them, entertaining them a bit, playing music for them to dance to.....making them feel like people again, vs. feeling like victims who lost their loved ones. They got an evening of.....normalcy, an evening of escape from what must be all consuming grief.

I've not lost loved ones to war, but I have experienced loss, and I know what it feels like to just let go of that grief, even if just for an evening, thanks to friends getting my mind elsewhere. That's what Trump and his staff did for these families.
