God you opened a can of worms there.... Yes, she's driving my old 2008 Lexus ES350 and I'm stuck with the hand me down mom car of my wife (2010 Enclave). I got my wife a Honda Pilot so to save money I'll drive the land yacht (Enclave) for a while. My daughter is working a part time job to pay for the increase in insurance and her own gas too.

My son will start drives ed this year and will get his license next year so the plan is to give him the hand me down, hand me down Lexus and we'll buy our daughter a newer car for college. College is a whole new discussion.... We have a rental condo and my '70 Corvette that we're thinking of selling for college funds.

Then I'm still stuck with the land yacht.... ugh. When I retire in a few years I'll sell it and buy something to piddle with... maybe a '67 Beetle...

Oh boy.You have a lot going on good luck on all of that planning. It is looking ok for my daughter for colleges. They are throwing money at her tuition wise. I may just end up helping for books & misc. I offered my 08 Accord, but the ex old in-laws gave her a car. Good thing I am tapped out until the support stops in June

The first thing my kids need to determine is what they want to do, then where to go then we can figure out if we can afford it. It may end up that they go to our local community college for electives then the last two years to college. Biggest bang for the buck. Hell, I thought college was going to be "free" under the new president....

They'll forgive the billions in student debt first... They're won't be any money in budget for free college after that.
In NC remember a state rep proposed making a few colleges/Universities tuition free... The schools balked at it saying it'd make their degrees mean less, most were in "underserved" communities (i think that's thd new term we're allowed to use without bans) and they balked at it also so he dropped the plan. Seems a free education wasn't something that interested them.

I'd break a hip getting inline for free college for the kid myself...
