anyone use a corn stripper?
I'd like to find a good corn stripper, so I can make recipes using fresh corn. Any one have one they like? I've seen the ones on the net, but I'd like to get it first hand. Thanks.

I Never had the urge to use one. I have on occassion used a paring knive to strip kernals off the cob, but being a mid-western hick, I still enjoy corn straight off (or still on ) the cob.
My FIL has all kinds of bridges and stuff, so he won't eat it off the cob, uses a butter knife to strip it off, but Tough Sh1t sherlock. MIL still chomps a mean cob at 84 years old. Got any pix to post. I'm not familiar with these devices. |

I've been using a knife all my life but you don't get whole kernels that way, and sometimes you get a bit of cob. It would be nice to make a few Mexican dishes or shepherds pie with whole fresh kernels.
My old man is 89 and still chows down right off the cob as well. |
