So what you’re saying in little or no investment in America?

Those products we leave languishing in the streets will come home to roost; that we all know is a reoccurring FACT.

I for one was a recipient of Community Service and Service Provider that was extremely helpful in shaping my life. Those services were abruptly cut by the Reagan Administration. Luckily I made it through the cracks of Raganonmics, but a far greater percentage didn’t. America paid for that choice Billions of times over in the Failure on the War on Drugs. We through good money after stupid decisions.

In the end, America saved absolutely nothing, and we’re all still paying for those stupid decisions in the Judicial, Penal, and Health Care Systems … if we’re lucky. Unfortunately many were possibly the Victims of you and I friends and family.

I will always be in favor of investing in America, because if we don’t, no one will and that will be the end of America.

There’s a difference … Vast no … Leadership Yes. Our Government needs to be accountable for the well-being of its people.

that's the difference between traditional conservative Americans...and progressive liberal Americans.

conservatives believe the gov has a responsibility to create an economic environment that gives citizens the ability "to pursue happiness"

liberals believe the gov has the responsibility to create an economic environment that gives citizens their happiness.

Thumbs up

I fundamentally disagree … It’s not every Man Woman and Child for themselves. No one gets to choose who they are born to.

It’s America, and thankfully we have Bleeding Hart Americans who will all ways put its people first, second and last.

That’s how I feel. When our Country is in need, it has no problem getting help from its entire people … that should go both ways, not one way!

Because everyone knows; 9 times out of 10; that ain’t no Rich Privilege Grunt on the Front Line fighting for everyone liberty.

Yep … That’s the Liberal in me … and I don’t and won’t apologize for that.

Our Government is comprised of its People; not Aliens from another Planet.

So why do we talk about them as someone from another Country?

missed my point

American people are the most charitable & giving in the history of the world...they do not need the government to collect taxes and dole out the charity...

the folks are quite capable...and more efficient doing it themselves.

plus...folks can give to whom they feel is in need...much better than politicians promising entitlements to folks in exchange for votes.

btw Chas...thanks for playing along...see how much fun this can be.

The different between Charity and Government help is the different between responsibility and accountability.

If we fail at our responsibility, we can say, oh well we tried.
If we fail at accountability, we will no longer exist.

Quality work there Will.

Well, I over-simplified things by using super-functions instead of the detailed budget.

Add back in $24 Billion for the FAA, FDA, and Nuclear Regulatory, based on their 2010 and 2011 budgets.

I guess this is the difference between mindsets...

I believe private charity can...for the most part, aid those who are truly in need.

You believe it's the gov's job to do so with tax payers dollars.

My position is, the private funds would be more accountable than gov funds for charity because folks will be spending their own money...and politicians are spending someone else's.

plus...the folks are not buying votes with entitlements.

again, thanks for the opinion.

Cut all the programs by 15%, cancel the Bush tax cuts, close corporate loop holes and give tax cheats serious jail time not probation.

If I could make one law, it would be that any individual government employee who documents a way to save money and gets it implemented, keeps half of the savings for the first year.

I'm betting just that would solve the issue in two years. And start paying down the debt in three. Plus, the first year would be the biggest non-private sector stimulus in history.
