Default Helping Bums

So , you're walking into a 7-Eleven or a gas station ,
and you see a filthy old dude with a bike & his shopping cart full of shit ,

He doesnt ask you for anything & when you come out of the store ,
do you offer him anything , a $1 or $5 bill ?

What about the bums with a cardboard sign on the left turn island ,
have you ever dug out your wallet to give them some money while waiting ?

I would rather give a few bucks to the needy dude that doesnt beg .

Explain your view .....

Here in the US we no longer have a safety net, because it has turned into a hammock. The guy has an apartment nearby where he picks up his monthly SSDI check and his EBT cards. Any extra dough that he gets goes to more booze and drugs, and he could forget his address and his login name to his benefit website.

Never run into the shopping cart people around here, and have only seen the cardboard sign people rarely. There was a sign guy I saw a few years ago in my area during bike week, and later spotted him at the rally with his bike. Figured if he could afford a nice ride, he didn't need any spare change from me.

No ****ing way. Not one dime, not a penny. If explanation needed, see Yadkins post above. My taxes are reserved for supporting foreign corrupt countries, wars we don’t need to be involved in and providing luxuries to illegal immigrants, democrats and bums.

During a road trip through Virginia, I stopped to refuel just north of Roanoke. This person-of-color-dude had his car stopped at the pump in front of me, and ax'd me for some money so he could fill it with gas. I told him no. Then he said that he wasn't moving his car until people around him gave him enough cash to fill it up. I filled up mine, then backed out to leave.

Not a penny, they get aggressive with womenz especially with womenz with kiddos in parking lots. The last one that bugged me twice at night when picking my son up learned when I said I had a baseball bat I wasn't playing. He didn't bug me again (some punk on bicycle). I did warn him the 1st time the 2nd time would end badly. Don't come up on people at night...

Now we did have a truly homeless guy and he lived behind a cemetery, he wouldn't let you buy him food even. He had money he said he chose to live that way. People bitched but he never begged nor bothered anyone.

I worked and/or went to school in NYC for about 20 years. After a while, you notice things. No, I never gave them any money, and never will.

Some yokel approached me from behind begging as I was putting the granddaughter in the rear car seat - a pretty vulnerable position, I had been on "orange alert" earlier when I spotted him and told him sternly to "BACK OFF!" and he did, in a hurry. Daughter said, "Dad....I've never heard you speak like that to ANYone?". Many of these twits are on the edge mentally and I don't let them near me.

When I worked in Wash DC (Chinatown) they were all over and some were whacko. Guess I got a face they don't care for because I was never bothered - unlike some of my employees.

Some homeless twit set up a tent under an overpass outside my subdivision and the neighbors were nearly giddy about having their very own bum they could fawn over on the Next Door app. Oh, I gave poor Andrew $20 today or I gave Andrew a couple of bottled waters today. The guy was young, very mobile and not underfed.

I was unpopular for wanting to run the guy off. The bleeding hearts are too freakin' dumb to know this is how a homeless "community" get started. Next thing you know you are dealing with "unhoused" druggees and criminals.

I had a couple with a kid ask for gas money and I gave them it because of the kid. That was many years ago.

Nowadays, bumming has become a business for some folks. Closer you get to Omaha, the more corners containing beggars. Lots of them are younger than me and I have a friend that owns a tree business offer one of them work once, which they quickly refused. Hell no, not a penny.

I got into it with a friend at a new year party. Dude is retired army, retired V.A. and 100% disability pension recipient. Said there are people in need in the world and he was glad the government was there to help them.

I asked how the government got the money to help and that’s when things started getting tense. Dude has never had a job that provides the “help” he’s grateful for and he’s been a dawn till dusk, pothead since retiring. Completely clueless, liberal tard.

Easy to be generous with someone else’s time and effort, especially when there’s a paycheck in it for you.

I came out of Walmart once, On the way to the car, I saw a guy sitting off to the side with no sign or anything. He had a small dog with him. So I went back inside and bought some dog food and gave it to him.

What happened after that I'll never know but I felt it was a decent thing to do.

I'd treat him no different than any other stranger. A nod and a smile. No less a human just because of how he's dressed or his mode of transportation as far as I am concerned.

Saw a guy in November who could be the person you're talking about. He said something I couldn't understand and there was no sense trying. Poor guy had some major brain damage going on. No idea how he's able to navigate an adult tricycle around the streets without getting run over but that seemed like a fairly impressive accomplishment to me.

Never give to any of these beggars and bums....and if one approaches me while pumping gas, before they get within 5 feet, I yell at them..."I got NOTHING for ya!" they always turn and go for the next sucker. Fukem all...
