I always thought that there Mercury Marauder Police Intercepter looked hard with the black, monochromatic theme, too.

I been doing that style wheels on all my cars for some decades now....

GTO, Vettes, all of them...but I cheat, I just use a Duplicolor black metallic spray, very common, has gold/silver metal in it....and has a semi gloss finish....easy to find, fix, touch up when roads take their toll....

always with the tire bead rim silver.... sometimes a silver center cap like on my vette now....

Hmmmm. Are the brake light bulbs standard or L.E.D? Got a rear pic? I can tell you for sure then if I like it or not. It's marginal....

Good thread guys

For now, I think I'm going to stick with the stock look--I've got some other projects I want to spend my money on.

Eventually, I will get my wheels refinished, probably in the gunmetal. There's a really good shop around here that can refinish wheels, powder coat, paint, whatever. I like the gunmetal look I've already got blacked out tail lights (which on the 996 is the entire rear end). Thanks for the suggestions and opinions

Just my personal, subjective, opinion? I think it'd look harder without 'em.

I don't like the reverse lamp louvers, either. But I'll bet that joker would look sinister with some sort of HID or bright LED reverse lights, though. That mofo'd be like, "Beware! I hunger!"

I say black on black has been over done too much.

I say go with gunmetal or hyper black as a nice off set.

White with black rims or red with black rims is cool tho.

Actually, every Porsche from the 70's and 80's did as well. My cousin's 83 911SC has them. That car above is what I was thinking of Dodge turbos, but I think even the Omnis had them. I am thinking of painting mine bright orange on a dark green car like this.

That don't look bad at all, but then again, they are not on black cars, so they don't make it look totally monochromatic.
