From what I saw on the news,

Blowing off the deposition was/is a strategic move on his part. Depositions behind closed doors can go on forever with endless questions. By appearing before congress itself which he intends to do, each rep generally is on a time limit to ask questions which is usually about 5 minutes per person.

Subtract from this time limit any bs going on between them and or other reps objecting if it gets out of line, so maybe a minute or 2 total time vs an hour or more otherwise.

Also Hunter wants it all to be public and not behind a closed door deposition and gives him the chance to plead the 5th if he has too.

I've tried to play this out in my mind; the end game. At a MINIMUM FJB will pardon him because FJB career is over and he still wants to show his son he is in his corner since he lost his honest son to sickness. If you want to see what it is like to watch someone die of dementia, vote FJB. It is unconscionable that the dems continue to press FJB to his death. They will get rid of Kamala, which will be another shit show, and then choose the successor to the throne via FJB death.

Criminal Contempt of Congress - Bannon and Navarro were jury convicted of the same thing and Bannon sentenced to a short prison term - but it will prob be a cold day in hell if they treat Hunter the same....
