As seen in the picture, the inside is cut out using a CNC mill and carbide endmills. This is a recurring job where I work, when I started the run time for just this operation was 1 hour 20 minutes. I sped up the SFM ( cutting speed ) and increased the feed rate to where the the carbide endmills were within recommended parameters. Now if you keep the chips cleared as it cuts, this operation has just under 37 minutes of cut time.

After the remaining operations are done, the finished part weighs exactly one pound.
16 pounds of chips, nice!

Certain items I have done for the military have had "notes" on them. You don't ask what those parts are for since if a comment was made too close to actual use, the contract could be pulled from your employer.

I'm doing just over a hundred of these, by the time I'm done I will have filled at least four chip bins 4' x 4' square and 4' tall.

I am quite happy the Haas mill has a chip conveyor

Built an ice cream parlor with the kids while our youngest was napping and our teen was at a birthday party.

Got up late, hit the gun show. Came home, made lunch and started on the back porch trim. Grocery hit and run, made dinner and now I'm here.

Don't be drinking my Heineken! I'm coming for those.

We had a Miata driver from Miami blow his diff, and I made arrangements to tow him to my house. I have a diff from Vader for an NA Miata, but his is a 1.6 and all of GWiz's Miatas are the 1.8's. I gave away the donor body, and what we were missing was the rear axles. So I donated about 4 hours of my time trying to help this kid, and will take his car to the track tomorrow. Took him to a rental agency to get a car and he'll hopefully have what he needs tomorrow to get his car running.

My life never stops. Fly..work....tow...race...fly work...

I'm home all this week, and don't fly till Tuesday!!@! So I get a weekend to myself. But, fly Tuesday, get home Friday, the Fly Sunday back to my favorite hotel in Jersey City till the following Friday. I'm truly losing track of time and dates. I have no clue what day it is anymore.

I think it's much more fun to watch.... and here in FLORIDA my old car and I get along just fine, with no .gov group looking over my shoulder telling me what I'm doing is rong.....

OR for that matter, some sanctioning racing group.....

Endless drywall repair. Ordered a house full of faucets/fixtures. This house (bought in 2015) is a fixer-upper on account of the previous (foreign) owners.

After that, ate dinner and watched a few auto enthusiast shows (Live PD watch party on hiatus till next weekend when new episodes return).

Pretty tired but will try for a scenic drive and a few errands at Blowes Home Improvement tomorrow.

Those damn Heineken's are still in the fridge!!! They are probably going the way of some beer I left at BoracayJohnny's house one time.

Threw out my lower back after taking in 1 bag of dog food and 3 bags of water conditioner salt pellets. Each bag was 40 pounds.
See what happens after a hot shower and tiger balm.

Machined five cub cadet driveshafts and got them ready to weld. Since the power cable on my TIG torch sprung a leak , these will be welded at work.

Then it was nap time

Asked forgiveness for my TNTC sinning.

Ate amazing lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.

Started cleanup from massive hail storm we had yesterday evening. Have had many hail storms, but this one was like nothing I have experienced. Lasted for nearly 8 minutes.

I'm assuming that you are in OK. I visited a buddy of mine many years ago at Altus AFB, where he was an instructor. Anyway, walking around his neighborhood, every car pretty much was beaten to death by hail. He said his car had essentially had the top side re-skinned 3 times.

Yep. This was not huge hail but lasted a long time and was very deep. Would not have cars without a garage slot for each on in OK- you are correct. Central Oklahoma.

Used to date a navy pilot that flew out of Timker AFB, closer to me than Altus.
