In CA, we use purple PVC pipes to carry reclaimed waste water. They're purple so you know not to drink from them.

I had to paint the yard bibs that connect to my rain water cisterns purple. Same idea. Officially non-potable water. I treat it and use it for drinking water. Run it thru a UV light and a scar on filter.

That is very interesting but I must disagree. Those posts are for a barbed wire fence. Fences are used generally to keep livestock in a specified area. Now, those posts/that fence is purple to accomplish what you said.

So, I can paint my yard fence purple since I live in TX! And that should serve as a warning!
