I hate to say it but those gladiators are kind of fugly, at least stock. Saw one at the dealer with a lift kit (I think) and some aftermarket wheels and tires. It looked ok but kind of high dollar to have to sink more money into to keep the neighbors from complaining.

It’s nothing personal and not just me:

“I’ve had 4 friends now (none of which are car guys) tell me that my gladiator is hideous. One of them said “god, I can’t even look at it, the proportions are all wrong”. Another said, “it just looks like a wide brimmed top hat” (which after making this picture, I agree with haha)

Do any of you that own it, think it’s ugly or is everyone in love with it? I can honestly say, I think it looks really cool, but there are one or two bad angles when looking at it”

Holy shite. I did not read this before my initial post but it’s literally word for word.

“My wife thinks they are...in her words, "Fugly."

I think they look awesome once they have wheels and bigger tires on them.

I don't care for the look of the soft top.”

Top one looks awesome. Should have come from the factory as such... The bottom one? Come on...

Ok...Now I see what yur sayin....and yes...I agree. Totally stock the Gladiator as well as the Wrangler are pure and simple ugly! Especially looking at the Gladiator from the rear. But, with some bigger tires, custom wheels and a whole lotta aftermarket parts....they look cool as hell... I know...I know...for the price you should not have to buy a bunch o shit to make em look cool....but like I said before....its a Jeep thing..... This is my third one and like ALL my vehicles, I never leave them stock. Hell....I just bought a C7 and then spent about 6 grand in aftermarket shit....It's what we car guys n gals do....Plus the Jeep culture is crazy huge down here on the Gulf coast! They are not for everyone, but those of us who have them LOVE them....

The Gladiator is not for everyone, just like Corvettes are not for everyone. I love my Gladiator and I've done more truck stuff with it in the 10 months I've had it, than with any other truck I've owned. Cereal.

My wife and I don't like the body color roof or fenders. Mine is a Sport S with a soft top. Works for me.

At a minimum they should be belted in like the OP has done. Ideally they should be crated. Letting a 50 pound dog wander in a car is the height of stupidity. Even a 30 mph fender bender will send one flying like a missile.
huh? I was concerned for the dogs safety, not wishing anything bad upon them.

Night and day difference with the bigger tires. I like that you can still buy them with a manual transmission. If they ever offer one with such and a hemi, I’d blaze a trail to the dealer.

Have had several dogs in my life, and also have track experience/teen driving instructing experience/etc...so I know (and taught) that you just can’t beat physics so I always have a dog safety harness/tether set up for any canine that goes for a ride in the car with me.

My current dog-sitting guest (since Feb 15 now) has an owner who is a lifelong cat guy, and despite having a harness that Petsmart fitted for her/showed him how to use, took her for a ride in his convertible unrestrained and had to stop fast - she went flying from the backseat to the front and hit her eye on the dash.

I am still angry and upset about this as he had the tools to prevent this sort of thing from happening. I am concerned about her eye as he never took her to the vet afterward (combination of oblivious and no money), and am still trying to see what I can legally do to help her vet-wise as I do not own her (yet anyway).

So, I am 100% in agreement with Giraffe Guy on this subject, and hope folks will take heed of that sound advice.
