It used to be like an on-line neighborhood bar. All the folks you know drop by, bitch, argue and make points back and forth. Sometimes the loud mouthed provocetive statements were what triggered the conversations to move forward. In the end, 90% of the people pushed back from the bar and wandered off highly unaffected by any of it.

Now it's like going to any public meeting in the country. The only focus is on skin color and little else. Just like the neighborhoods I have been forced to move out of, when the POC move in...they take over and tell everybody else what to do and how to think. All the while ignoring the crime and chaoes they brought with them and ignore. Looks like yet another neighborhood has been busted and ruined.

Must not have read my posts, Ken, Grumpy, and many others who posted the facts with links disputing the progressive lies. I just skipped over the borderline racists posts and one liner insults.

It was a tough crowd a year ago so I could see how many couldn't take it. Like you, people should have just moved on instead of cancelling a place for strong opinions which made it interesting.

Under the current Mods, the Russian hoax would not have been called out from the start. Conservatives would have been silenced.

It's funny, my ban has been lifted, but I still haven't gone back. It's getting harder and harder to return to that place. The ONLY reason I go back is for the threads I started and want to update because of the people eager for updates and results. And the classifieds... It's ironic that I only want to HELP their board by posting good parts for sale, relevant and tech based content, and offering assistance. Sad how they treat their more senior folks sometimes.

Side note...if our classifieds here were hopping, I doubt I'd ever return to that sinking ship.

We get these threads every now and then. Someone does something at CF to piss off the mods (not a hard thing to do, since the rules are always changing without notice), they get banned knowing what kind of place it is. They show up here to bitch (almost always a valid bitch). CF bashing commences. Then the ban is lifted, offender goes back. Lather, rinse, repeat. You know what you're dealing with, so why tolerate it?

I've been back exactly twice since I was banned more than a decade ago. It was just a sightseeing expedition, no posting. And I haven't missed a thing.

I can not pin point a certain advertiser, but I do not doubt that some have contacted IB and had requested that the un-PC comments be toned down.

The problem was that it became impossible to ignore the bs and insults because they were in every thread. It wasn’t enjoyable to read, let alone participate.

It’s not that it was a tough crowd. Trust me...being a female on an (almost) exclusively male forum is much tougher. Its just that watching angry men yell and insult one another in every single thread is not enjoyable or engaging.

Strong opinions are one thing but it’s sometimes nice to hear the other side’s view without the pile on. CF PRC was an echo chamber of grown men stroking one another’s *ahem* egos. Most of them are there to validate one another and tell each other how awesome they are.

There was no genuine discussion. None.

I’m sure there were some individual posters (like you and those you’ve mentioned) that were open to discussions and were above the insults. Unfortunately, that was not the majority of the content or threads or participants.

Let’s put it this way, I walked into a thread where someone was literally calling anther poster a “lying bitch” and posting “lying bitch” memes in almost every post he made. Then it spilled to other threads. It had to have been 30-40 times that I saw. I was just like, “I’m done. This place is a joke. I don’t even know why I bothered to venture over here...”

I post occasionally in OT over there. I like both places and have friends that post exclusively to one place or the other. No issues with CF or their mods.
