Just this past weekend in Miami, a Heffner Performance built Ford GT went 266.9mph in the standing mile...

There is already talk going around of 275mph being possible at the Texas venue in October.

Hopefully the Gallardos will catch up, once the builders have a grasp on full motor/tranny builds for the LP560. Until now the focus with the Gallardo has been the pre-09 cars, and there is expected to be a marked jump in performance netted when the full regime of mods can be brought to bear on the current car. I'd like to see Gallardo times in the high 260's at Texas, with the GTTs having caught up to the Fords by next spring...

... of course the Murcielago Twin Turbos should be appearing at events in competitive trim soon as well, not to mention UGR and Heffner both finally turning towards Twin Turbo programs for the Ferrari F430 family of cars. I have a feeling that once full regimes are available for the Scuderia, and the Nissan GTR guys really hit their stride, we might see 5 different platforms(Gallardo-Ford GT-Supra-F430-GTR) attaining similar speeds, somewhere around 280/290mph with fully equipped street cars in the 5280'...although the Supra may have reached the end of its developmental lifespan...

300mph is possible, but might require stripped out, dedicated mile racers...

Did that Ford GT have ZR1 Brakes on it? That is bad ass, the bar is raising every year in this event

Yes, I believe it does have the ZR1 CCB's on it. Speeds are going up every event it seems. Just 2 or 3 events ago the record was held by SW's single Turbo Supra at 246mph. Now that is ancient history...

With Vettes the record is 212, the owner says he is going for 220 with less than 1000 rwhp. The problem in the Vette is not the power but the drivetrain, not sure we have one that will work with the 1700+ rwhp to get to 250mph

We needed a different angle of the GT to see how it was moving
