I had a 21# rat terrier, fearless, and her behavior around larger dogs was very predictable. She was very tolerant up to a point, then would give a sharp warning bark. She never bit another dog, projected dominance in spite of her size, and learned to control the situation in other ways.

Your dog shouldn't bite another dog, defensive or otherwise. That type of behavior could manifest itself into biting a human, and that usually ends up badly, for the dog.

So next time the neighbor dog comes over, I suggest that you take the lead and initiate a friendship. Friendly tone of voice, ear scratching, petting its head and back of the neck. For both dogs, project dominance, and adopt a strict tone to correct any misbehavior. Offer water, and perhaps a treat to reward good behavior.

I think that when your dog sees the neighbor as less of a threat that are far more likely to get along. You have the opportunity to turn this annoyance into a pleasant daily experience.

It's out-of-the-box, workable solutions like this that make Yadkin a free-thinker of quite some merit. My idea was to confront the owner (my typical go-to) but in light of the situation, this is a much better solution for all involved. Prayers sent to Big Bob.

I saw a documentary on Canada and Canadian biker gangs, and it showed that when Eastern Canada, and then the rest, went liberal politically in 1970, it went from a secure, clean, well-run nation that it had been for decades into a mecca for drugs, crime, poverty, etc. Just like in the USA. Except Canadians have even less balls than Americans. I wonder who is going to have a civil war first---us or them?

The US for sure. More of your citizens have firearms. And you have way more
people. Our civil war would be a couple of neighbors lobbing water balloons over the fence
