This CoronaVirus And Demonstrating Is Small Potatoes

When i was in 6th grade President John Kennedy was assassinated in 1963 The first President since McKinley in 1901. In 1965 we had the Watts riot. 3,438 arrested, 34 dead, 1,032 injured. In April 4th 1968 we lost a man that believed in peaceful demonstrations Martin Luther King he was also assassinate. Two month later Senator Bobby Kennedy was assassinated and probably would have won the Presidency in 1968. At the same time drugs flooded our nation and crossed the world killing millions back then and later on. The Vietnam War was going where we lost over 58k men with hundreds of thousands wounded. Not counting the million plus the Viet Cong lost plus the many allies we had that died. America was demonstrating back then with the Musicians feeding the fire with their songs. Military men were treated like dogs.
So when i see what's going on today i see small potatoes and nothing more

Not to mention the draft. I remember graduating from high school thinking I would not live to see my 21st birthday.

I got drafted right out of high school at 18 years old. Not old enough to vote or drink.

I registered for the draft on my 18th birthday and the next thing I heard from them was my draft card in the mail classifying me 1-H. I had high numbers in the lottery both years and was never even called for a physical. Never heard from them again.

I have a a 68 year old (Pop's) I talk to weekly living in Lombard Ill, I worked with on the Railroad, I learned a lot from him, because I kept my mouth shut and my ears open (Army Ranger), my Father was a Marine Gunner on a medivac,(68-71), didn't let me join the Marines on my 17th birthday. I was told he was spit upon his arrival back to the states. Pop's told me the race riots and protests of Vietnam were worse. Sorry, I don't mean to bring up bad memories, just relaying what I was told. God Bless Y'all.

Liberals weaponized/politicized the first amendment and continued with it unchecked.

Spitting on our military men after they returned home from VN, of whom none wanted to go to war?...shame on them.

People realized their shame and how wrong they were and bent over backwards to praise and thank vets after Gulf I.

My dad never talked about his VN experience until near the end. I don’t know if it was because he was spit on, committed acts he didn’t care to share, or he was horrified by the experience. I do know that he was pissed that he never got the welcome home and gratitude that Gulf War vets received.
