Default Rain Rain Rain

I know come August or later July we will be moaning about needing rain but for right now, enough already. It has been like monsoon season here lately. It rained so hard last night water was lifting the manhole covers on the storm drains in the plant. The storm drains are at least 18-36 inch drains and everyone on our side of the plant was gurgling water from the roof drains. Amazing, haven't see it do this before.
Our ditch is completely flooded right now with water running over our driveway. I'm waiting for the ark to come floating by.

I mowed this afternoon because my knees were killing me... just got 2 inches in 45 minutes.
I have become a human barometer.

Not when it floods your house. A lot of peeps around here are underwater. Roads closed everywhere. Heck, my commute to work has doubled from closed roads.

I could go for rain. We're going into week two of 90-100 degree temps.

I dumped the rain gauge at the start with 3 inches. Once it gets light enough I'll see how much is back in it.

I mowed the yard on Tuesday and it looks like I have not touched the yard in a month. This is the wettest June I've seen since we moved here 11 years ago. Normally the grass is brown and we are worried about not having fireworks because it is so dry.

I took the dogs out last night and almost had the small one wash away in the stream coming through our back yard. The sump pump has been working overtime trying to keep the crawl space dry.

The weather guessers are saying the rain will stop this morning and then the 90 degree weather kicks back in again. It should be about 92 with backed ground water in the air on Sunday.

I think tropical storm Bill dumped more water in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri than it did in Texas. Maybe. Yesterday if finally stopped raining.

Just walked out into the back yard. About 3/4 acre. Damn near sank to my ankles. The foot tall grass was the only thing that kept me from going deeper in. Anyone have a grass bailer?

Backyard drains pretty good here. I checked the rain gauge this morning, 5 inches of rain since Thursday. I might get to mow the grass Tuesday if it dries out enough.
