Can someone explain the benefits of homeless people everywhere in downtowns of large cities. It is disgusting. Dallas, San Francisco, Denver, Salt Lake City; even small cities like Little Rock are littered with homeless camps. And these liberal voters have the audacity to criticize “flyover” states that are clean and healthy.

Large population centers suffer from a lack of humanity. This can be evidenced by how nobody gets involved trying to stop crime, nor will they even report it. They simply do not care about each other. It's dog eat dog and the homeless you see are basically stuck in a world they did not create and can not affect. If they had the funds to relocate they'd have spent it on rent.

Apparently Democrat voters find it beneficial. They love ****ing the economy and creating homeless. I say this as I watched several couples in their 20’s choosing to push a baby in stroller by all the homeless to go eat downtown and experience all of that Democrat utopia… rather than going to somewhere clean and safe with their baby.

Of course you also create at least 50 gov jobs to manage and maintain it, those jobs go to family and friends, all are paid $120+K/year with free benes and pensions.
All servicing contracts for the building are union, so you get HUGE kickbacks on all contracts.

We have to fly to Oahu for family wedding next month.
The only thing worse than flying there, is the homeless, everywhere. The entire leeward side has been inundated for years. But now the meth-heads have worked it's way around to the windward side.

My mom lived there for 35 years. It went from excellent to shithole in the past ten years. Last time I was there was 2021, right before she passed. I'll never return. Kauai, yeah. Not Ohau.

Lots of dumb locals, lots of whacked out haoles and tourists as well.

Wife and I went to Maui in Dec of 23. Most beautiful place I’ve ever seen, especially the resort beaches. There were many homeless camps there though mainly on the public beaches. They were so bad I can’t imagine anyone else would use those beaches. Went to Oahu one day to see Pearl Harbor, driving down some main highway going under an overpass some buck naked chick was walking around waving her arms yelling at no one…. Looked pretty drugged out, it was bizarre, I would guess meth. Crazy stuff…..

Homeless gravitate to larger cities because there is more there for them. For the druggies, there's drugs, for all of them, there's homeless shelters and other outreach by both government and by private charities.

There is none of that in rural areas, which is why homeless aren't in rural areas in any kind of numbers.

The biggest problems, I think, that create and foster homelessness are drugs and mental illness. I've helped a few people over the years thatI knew very well and trusted by letting them stay with me for a few months, or a bit more to help them get on their feet again, or who moved to the area and needed some time to get settled. That's probably not uncommon. Most people, though, including me, aren't going to take in people addicted to drugs and/or mentally ill. Just too much risk, too much that can go wrong. For the homeless, there's generally a reason they aren't couch surfing with family or friends trying to get it together.
