Default Out with the old, in with the new.

14 years later...it was time.

New one has a 6" wider deck and nearly 7 more HP.

With me, you never know.

Got a new pull behind cart for free. Maybe I can stack it with 1,500 pounds of rocks again and pull the pin.

You need the cruise control because the cup holders will be filled with adult beverages, right?

Always. Had 4-5 beers mowing the lawn today alone.

Had plenty of lawn services, and have never been pleased. Honestly, with a cup holder full of cold beer, and the mindlessness of mowing the lawn, I enjoy the mental relaxation. Job is so cerebral, that these little outlets are worth the effort.

Also, I've used the tractor for MANY other things over the years other than mowing. Stump pulling, towing rocks, blah blah blah. I like my Deere. Old one just got too expensive to maintain. Still works great, but have to solve the seat/blade switch issue. If I can get it working on my own, I'll sell it for about $400. Last repair was $500, and that was 6 months ago. Again, it was time.

Looks good. 48" deck? I bought an X330 last year with a 42" deck, & now think I should have moved up to the next model with 48".

You probably already know this, but you can get rid of that RIO backup safety crap with a simple bypass jumper. We have no little kids or pets running around our yard, so the safety aspect doesn't concern me. Makes it much easier mowing in & out of small areas.

I also found that adding a "spinner" knob (suicide knob) to the steering wheel made it much easier to maneuver around while holding my beer with one hand.

What model is that?
I'm still rockin an '05 L111 V-twin 20HP. All switches work, but if needed, I have a short 14Ga wire jumper (1") I plug into the connector under the seat.
I don't recommend doing it(red-nekkin), but.... lift up the seat, unplug the two-wire plug, and insert the jumper into the female plug.

Although bypassing the safety switches is a on lawn mower forums, it is an acceptable "diagnostic tool" to verify / test the safety switch

I used youtube to try and bypass both switches to keep the thing running, and I struck out. I will put a minimal amount of money into diagnosing it, but when my gut says it's worth $400-500, spending $100 to fix it with no guarantees seems silly. If I can spend $50 and fix it myself, then it's worth it. After that, someone can come take it away.

And for those of you who remember the original post about the old tractor, you are officially old.
