The Vegas Golden Knights just won the NHL Western Conference title! This is awesome for Las Vegas to be playing for the Stanley Cup.

With their win on Sunday afternoon the Golden Knights became just the third team in NHL history to reach the Stanley Cup Final in their inaugural season, joining the Toronto Arenas who did so in 1918 and the St. Louis Blues in 1968.

Uhh, I think the team is made up of players that were NOT protected by their own team for the expansion draft.

Yes, a player or 2 from each of the other teams. They played like a team should and produced results.

It's called the expansion draft and it's pretty much the same process by which the Nashville Predators came into existence.

I'm not so sure Vegas is going to need home ice.
I haven't seen much from the Caps or the Lightning that would indicate they've got what it takes to withstand the onslaught that Vegas is about to hit them with. All four Vegas lines are relentless and I don't see either Eastern team being able to handle them.

I'm still hoping for a competitive series, but I'll be shocked if the Cup doesn't go to the Western Conference this year.

That was great.

For much of the game, the Knights played like they did against the Kings & the Sharks & the Jets. I thought they were going to force a game 6. Congratulations to the Caps and their fans. What an awesome series!
